Hi Anonymous ,

Please review the following documentations about Power BI data source prerequisites and the supported features of SQL Server 2016 per Edition:

Editions and supported features of SQL Server 2016

In addition, currently it supports only Import and DirectQuery connection mode when use SQL Server as data source. You can refer this official documentation to create and publish a report with SQL Server as data source.
