Plotting points over a filled map

Hi all,

I am looking to plot some points with latitude and longitude on top of a zip code color-filled map.  This would allow us to see the amount of sales for each zip code by the color of the map, and then be able to plot dots on the map where the stores are with latitude and longitude.  We have quite a bit of stores, so I would not be able to use the 'pins' features.

I saw a few posts about this from a few years ago and this was not a feature yet.  Not sure if someone was able to find a solution or they added this feature in an update.
