Alert creation error

Hello everyone,

When I try to create an alert (Data Activator) on the ‘Fabric Capacity Metrics’ dashboard I constantly get an error with no information.

Are you experiencing the same error? Have you managed to get around it?

Thank in advance for your return,

Vivien

    Hi vivien57 ,

Can you try reconfiguring the credentials for the semantic model or uninstalling and reinstalling the Fabric Capacity Metrics app?

    Best Regards,

      Hello,

      Thank for your response,

I have tried entering the credentials again but I still get the error.

How can deleting the app resolve this? I find this drastic 🙂

        Hi vivien57 ,

I can't reproduce your error, it's normal on my side.

If you are a Power BI Pro licensee, you can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.
It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Perhaps the reason is that the Fabric Capacity Metrics App is in a Pro workspace?

I think if the Fabric Capacity Metrics App workspace gets assigned to a Fabric or Premium capacity, it will work. It works for me.

However, in my experience, Data Activator only checks for data from Power BI once per hour. Also, I had to refresh the semantic model in order for Data Activator to detect changes in the data.

      Hello,

      Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I already have the workspace app on the fabric capacity.

Then if you refresh the semantic model of the capacity metrics app, I think you will get an alert next time the hourly event happens.

It's a bit strange, it is not real time, just once in an hour, and we need to refresh the semantic model every time. Also there is a lag (perhaps 5 minutes) after an event triggers before the alert reaches my Teams.
