7 TopicsDifferences in Loading times between work areas
Hey, I'm stuck. I have a problem: I created a report that loads extremely quickly on Igels in a workspace that's been around for a long time. But that workspace isn't meant for that. So I created a new workspace with the same license and the same settings, etc. In this new workspace, it feels like my report isn't loading at all. The text shows up, but every chart or table takes a full 10 minutes to load. I’ve already spent many days trying to find the error, even with the help of AI, but I can’t find it. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or what I’m doing wrong? Best regards, Freddy - Power BI Pro License455Views0likes6CommentsPowerBI Workspaces
I am sure that this has been asked a few times, and while I am searching for solutions, I thought that I would post this scenario/question here, looking for comments/solutions/how you are doing things similar/etc. We have different Business groups creating PowerBI reports/dashboards for their end consumers. We (as in the company's IT group) are trying to "reel" in the creation of reports/dashboards and create a deployment workflow that we can share with leadership. To stop the "Wild West" type of approach to Business users. With different groups "developing" PowerBI reports/dashboards, what is the process that you and your company use? We have thought about incorporating each Business Group their own PowerBI workspace to work with, then have a consolidated workspace, then have each PowerBI developer check in/out their PowerBI "code" into a code management solution (similar to TFS or ADO), then have a "TEST" environment, once the PowerBI "code" is "blessed", promote it to a "PROD" environment for consumers to use (view reports/dashboards, etc). Is this the correct way of thinking? How are you and your company working similar to this process now? And, is it successful, what would you update? Thank youSolved1.1KViews0likes5CommentsReal-time updates in PowerBI without pressing the refresh button (Without Powerbi Premium Per User)
Hi! I want to show data in my charts updating real-time without pressing the refresh button. Currently, I have managed to get it working by using a streaming dataset (API). I used a python program to fetch data from PostgreSQL, convert it to JSON and send it to PowerBI Service via the PUSH URL provided by the streaming dataset. I tried to create a report on PowerBI desktop by using Get Data > Semantic Model and I selected my streaming dataset. I published the report to PowerBI Service but I do not see the real-time updating happening. However, when I create a dashboard on PowerBI Service, the real-time updating happens. Do PowerBI reports not support this real-time updating feature? Also, If I had PowerBI Premium Per User and used DirectQuery, would I see an option to enable auto-refresh such that real-time updating of my dashboard without the user needing to press any refresh button happens? (real-time updating mentioned refers to when data is inserted into PostgreSQL, I can almost immediately see it reflected in my chart with little lag time)Solved8.9KViews0likes18CommentsBulk / Matrix Updating in Power BI Service Workspace Settings
It would be great if we were able to have some kind of bulk update matrix/functionality in the Power BI Service Workspaces. For example if I have a large amount of datasets in a single Workspace (say 50 datasets for argument's sake) it is painful to have to go into each dataset settings one-by-one to enable/disable/update scheduled refreshes, change credentials, etc. It would be to be able to choose the setting you want primarily, then choose (eg. tick box) which artefacts/dataflows/datasets you want to apply that change to as a bulk update.2.2KViews1like0Comments
