Differences in Loading times between work areas

Hey, I'm stuck. I have a problem: I created a report that loads extremely quickly on Igels in a workspace that's been around for a long time. But that workspace isn't meant for that. So I created a new workspace with the same license and the same settings, etc. In this new workspace, it feels like my report isn't loading at all. The text shows up, but every chart or table takes a full 10 minutes to load. I’ve already spent many days trying to find the error, even with the help of AI, but I can’t find it. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or what I’m doing wrong?

Best regards, Freddy

    Hi FredericSch,

If the same report perform well in one workspace but slow in another, it doesn't seems like report design issue.

Since both workspace are using Power BI Pro license, simply moving the report to a different workspace should not normally cause that kind of performance difference.

One question-does every report in the new workspace behave the same way, or is it only this report? Also, when the visual finally load after 10 min , do they render successfully or do you eventually get a timeout or errror?

if you haven't already , you could also compare the report using Performance Analyzer in Power BI desktop. it may help determine whether the time is being spent on DAX queries, visual rendering or elsewhere , which could provide more information into the issue.

    Thanks

      Hey trivedisunita  ,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve done some further testing: all reports in the one workspace are fast, while all those in the new workspaces are slow. I even created another workspace as a test, and it is slow as well.

The reports load successfully on one device but take ages on the other; the text appears immediately, but the graphics don't load at all.

Unfortunately, I can't use the Performance Analyzer in a way that accounts for the specific workspace 😞

        Hi FredericSch,

Since here the same reports perform well in the existing workspace but are slow in multiple newly created workspaces, this does not look like a report design or a Power BI Pro licensing issue. It is more likely a workspace or service-side issue, which is not expected behaviour.

I recommend raising a Microsoft Support ticket so the team can investigate the backend telemetry for the affected workspaces.
