Hi, I am a SQL DBA who is fairly new to the Power BI admin side of things. I have been asked to change an existing deployment, to move the SQL Workload off one server to another. Currently Server A Hosts the Power BI Reporting, the databases for this are on Server B, these are the databases I need to move to server C. However when I try to move the databases and re point the database via the Database/Change Database/Choose an Existing Report Server Database functionality, it says. "This Edition of Reporting Services requires that you use local SQL Server realtional databases" Thing is, this happens with either the name of the new server (C) or the existing one (B) which is already in and working so its already using a server that is not local, I can see connections to it ? So it must have been accepted at some point. Both servers can be succesfully connecto using the "Test Connection". Another thing that seems unusual, and may be related, on the front page, under Report Server Status it has an instance ID of "PBIRS", and the next item down is the edition which is blank. Any ideas, suggestions gratefully received.Solved2.4KViews0likes4CommentsMicrosoft teams grayed out save feature for power bi embedded report

Hi everyone, I am about to install and configure Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) and I would like to know if Power BI Report Server is supported for the "Reporting Extensions Setup". On the documentation its mentioned only SSRS but I would not wish to have two separate instances and supporting infrastructure for no need. Can anyone assist with this? Hi all - This may be an elementary question as I've recently started diving into SCCM reporting using Power BI. Please advise if I'm not posting in the correct area. I've been able to create some useful visuals so far, but with simple single datasets. What I have now is a table that pulls duplicate values in a few columns (resource ID, net bios name). In SQL/SSRS, I'm able to collapse the values. For example, my query looks for any device in our environment that has a required MS update that is not installed, and will generate a compliance status of "Not Compliant" and so-forth. Because of this, I'm having trouble creating a visual where it shows correct numbers. Here's what I see in SSRS: I have it structured to expand by machine name. Here's what I have in Power BI: Here, each resource ID and machines name is associated to each update value. I'd like to create a visual of the overall compliacne of only one machine, say "count of machines where = compliant or not compliant". Can someone help give me a nudge on this one? Thank you!722Views0likes0CommentsReport Server Security Reporting
I have now created reports using the Power BI Server logs on who has added, requested and updated reports on the server, but I am interested in being able to report on the users and AD groups that have access to reports (not just who uses them). Is there a log or available dataset(s) to query the group or users and their associated roles for a security report? So permission setup rather than usage?1KViews0likes0CommentsUsing OAuth to connect to Power BI Reporting Services 401

Hello, has the Power BI Report Server come to replace the traditional SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)? As I understand it, with Power BI Report Server, it is possible to store paged reports, send reports automatically by e-mail, and all the options that exist in SSRS.Solved5.5KViews0likes3CommentsNetezza Direct Query in Reporting Services (Aug) Not Working
Hi all, While testing the additional data sources that are now available with the August update of the Power BI Reporting Services, I am encountering an issue while connecting to IBM Netezza (Beta) connection, using Direct Query. I can create/run the report OK in the RS Power BI Desktop and publish it to the Report Server as well. However, when going to the server ro run it, I get the following error: We do have all of the connectors (ODBC and OLEDB) for Netezza installed on the server. Any ideas?
