8 TopicsCascading Parameters Not Auto-Refreshing After Multi-Select in PowerBI Report Builder
Hi Team, I am facing an issue with cascading parameters in PowerBI Report Builder where multi-select parameters do not automatically trigger the dependent/child parameter refresh until the user manually clicks outside the dropdown. --- Scenario: - I have a report with multiple cascading parameters (e.g., Region → Category → Sub-Category). - Each parameter has multi-select enabled. - When a user selects multiple values from the parent parameter (e.g., Region), the child parameter (e.g., Category) does not refresh automatically. - The user has to click outside the dropdown first to "commit" the selection, and only then does the cascade trigger. --- Questions: 1. Is there a native way in Report Builder to trigger cascading refresh automatically while the multi-select dropdown is still open? 2. Is this a known limitation, and is there a recommended workaround? 3. Does Power BI Paginated Reports handle this any differently ? Any guidance or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! So the direct query from power bi pbix returns only the data I have passed though the parameters from report builder into the dataset and not all into my Report Builder. Hi everyone! I have been getting this error for days and cannot solve it. I am getting this message whenever I run the report. I am connected to a PowerBi dataset from the app. The result set returned by the server is not a rowset. ---------------------------- Query execution failed for dataset 'DataSet1'. ---------------------------- An error has occurred during report processing. ---------------------------- An error occurred during local report processing. It is my first time making a paginated report and working with PowerBi Builder. So, if anyone has any suggestions on how I can solve the error I will be very happy to hear!
