Can't export full .pbix + can't publish after live connection workaround Hi community, I've been running into a frustrating chain of issues over the past few days and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same. Issue 1: Can no longer export .pbix with data I have reports that I've successfully downloaded as .pbix (full copy with data) many times before. Suddenly, I'm getting the error: "We couldn't export to .pbix format." The only download mode that works now is "A copy of the report with a live connection to the data online" — the full data export fails every time. For context: - The report was originally published from Power BI Desktop (not created in the Service) - Large dataset storage format is OFF - No incremental refresh configured - The tables are not large at all, so dataset size shouldn't be a factor - No deployment pipeline involved Issue 2: Can't publish after editing the live connection .pbix After making report edits in Desktop using the live connection file, I tried to publish back to the service and got this error: "An error occurred while attempting to publish 'Report Name.pbix': The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found." My questions 1. Is anyone else suddenly unable to export full .pbix files from reports they previously could download without issues? 2. Is there a known issue with the UK South region affecting exports and publishing? 3. Any workaround to publish a live connection .pbix back to the service? Power BI Image URLs from Tenant-Secured SharePoint – Intermittent Rendering Issues
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing ongoing issues with displaying image URLs in Power BI reports and apps, and I’m struggling to identify a reliable solution. Context We store employee/user headshots as image URLs in a user lookup table within the models. These images are used across multiple reports for UI elements such as: Logged-in user icons Employee of the Month visuals Leaderboards and other internal dashboards The images are hosted in a company SharePoint folder maintained by our Marketing team. All employees have view permissions to this SharePoint location (not anonymous access). Issue 1 – Power BI Service / Teams When opening reports in Power BI Service or via Teams, some images load correctly while others appear as broken image links. If I manually open the SharePoint image folder in my browser (authenticating via our tenant) and then refresh the report, the images display correctly. However, this only persists temporarily, typically by the next day the images are broken again. This makes me suspect an authentication, cookie, or caching issue rather than an issue with the URLs themselves. Issue 2 – Digital Signage We also surface these reports via a digital signage solution on screens around multiple offices. In this scenario, none of the SharePoint-hosted images render, they consistently show as broken links. Interestingly, the images display correctly in the digital signage platform’s preview, but fail once pushed to the physical screens. My assumption here is that the signage devices do not have the required authentication context (cookies / tokens) to access tenant-secured SharePoint images. Question Has anyone encountered similar behaviour when using SharePoint-hosted image URLs in Power BI? Is there a known or recommended approach for handling image authentication/caching issues like this? Are there better-practice alternatives for hosting images used in Power BI (especially for digital signage scenarios)? Would a different hosting method (e.g. public blob storage, CDN, base64 encoding, etc.) be more appropriate? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I’ve struggled to find clear documentation or examples covering this use case. Thanks in advance.

I'm reaching out for help to report an issue I've been experiencing for quite some time. When I configure a visual with a custom tooltip and publish it to the Power BI service, when I hover the cursor over the polygons (in an Icon Map), the tooltip appears and disappears instantly. This problem persists even when drilling down into a specific polygon. I should also mention that this issue occurs both in the Power BI service itself and when exporting the report to a public web link. Below is a 20-second GIF illustrating the problem. Note: It works perfectly in Power BI Desktop; the problem only occurs on the web. I hope you can help me with this.
What you see is NOT what you Get
The Power BI Service does not render reports as they look in Desktop. Here's one comparison: Desktop Service (Both in workspace and App) The red box (an image) is higher in the service All the data doesn't fit on the service (note the vertical scroll bar and the last line chopped) It is really frustrating, especially when trying to add info buttons on table column headers or vertical lines on the table to segregate different field categories. You get everything all lined up beautifully in the desktop only to have a user complain that the button or line is covering data on the service. Come on, Microsoft, there's no excuse for this.
