5 TopicsCombining Multiple Measures into a Unified Pie Chart Overlay on Power BI Map
Hello Power BI community! I have measures for sales, gains, and losses. I aim to display their aggregate in a pie chart overlay on a map (power bi default map - not Azure Map), segmented by measure type. I have the location set on town name and it works fine but I just need the measure to show in one bubble. Essentially, the measures would be in the legend and the value. For instance, a town might display 25M in sales, 21M in gains, and 12M in losses. While I can visualize each measure independently on the map and segment with a dimension column in the legend, I need a unified view for all three measures that is segmented by the measure type. How can I achieve this with the measure as the dimension in Power BI? I believe I am looking for a calculated table with a switch statement, but I am not sure.1KViews0likes1CommentCreate Categories Based On Count From a Measure
Hey all! I'd like to preface by saying that I am mostly new to Power BI, not a programmer, and I am self-taught, so if this question seems obvious or is a standard practice, please forgive my ignorance. I am trying to determine the best way to grab a count of a field and then break that count into categories. My goal is to take a count of issues (they have a unique key) in a changelog, filtered by the same unique key in the main table. Depending on the result, I want catergorize it into buckets i.e. 1-3, 4-6, 6-9, etc. I want to use these as a legend for a pie chart, and then get a count of issues that fit into each category. This is a rudimentary example: Main Table - high level list of issues and associated fields Issue # Description Creation Date Status 1 Bug 1/1/2022 Closed 2 Bug 1/2/2022 Closed 3 Change Request 1/3/2022 Open 4 Bug 1/4/2022 Closed 5 Enhancement 1/5/2022 Closed 6 Bug 1/6/2022 Open 7 Bug 1/7/2022 Closed 8 Change Request 1/8/2022 Closed 9 Bug 1/9/2022 Open 10 Enhancement 1/10/2022 Closed Changelog: Issue # Change Type Change Date 1 Status Change 1/2/2022 1 Comment 1/3/2022 1 Status Change 1/4/2022 1 Comment 1/6/2022 2 Status Change 1/5/2022 2 Comment 1/6/2022 2 Status Change 1/7/2022 2 Comment 1/8/2022 2 Status Change 1/9/2022 3 Comment 1/10/2022 3 Status Change 1/2/2022 4 Comment 1/3/2022 4 Status Change 1/4/2022 4 Comment 1/6/2022 5 Status Change 1/5/2022 6 Comment 1/6/2022 6 Status Change 1/7/2022 6 Comment 1/8/2022 6 Status Change 1/9/2022 6 Comment 1/10/2022 6 Status Change 1/2/2022 7 Comment 1/3/2022 7 Status Change 1/4/2022 7 Comment 1/6/2022 7 Status Change 1/5/2022 8 Comment 1/6/2022 9 Status Change 1/7/2022 9 Comment 1/8/2022 9 Status Change 1/9/2022 9 Comment 1/4/2022 10 Status Change 1/6/2022 10 Comment 1/5/2022 Count Result: Issue # Changes 1 4 2 5 3 2 4 3 5 1 6 6 7 4 8 1 9 4 10 2 I am able to get the count data easily without a measure, but I cannot bucket it into groups. Any quick thoughts on how to accomplish this? I am assuming this will require using variables, but I haven't the slightest idea where to start. Thank you!Solved4.4KViews0likes5CommentsCustom Measure not working on Pie Chart Visual
Hello Team/ Uspace87 , I have created a custom measure , which I want to use as a filter in pie chart visual. When I apply this filter , it gets applied on the "Legend" but not on the "Values" of the pie chart visual. Please assist. My exact use case is as follows : 1.The default behaviour of the checkbox slicer in Power BI is that it shows the result of OR when you select multiple items , I wanted to convert checkbox slicer to AND logic upon multiple selection. 2. I took the help of following link to create a custom measure : https://radacad.com/slicer-with-and-condition-in-power-bi 3. The custom measure is working correctly on table visual but when I try to use the same on pie chart I am facing the abovementioned issue. Please suggest if not custom measure then what is the correct way to solve my use case. Thanks Deesha573Views0likes0CommentsCustom Measure not working on Pie Chart Visual

Hi there, Edit to my original post as it wasn't clear! I'm having difficulty getting my pie chart to work. I have a source table that's like this: Last Updated Country Asset Reference Total Value 02/03/2022 Italy aaa 4,324 02/03/2022 Italy bbb 42 04/01/2022 Egypt ccc 56,540,000 16/03/2021 Italy aaa 546 16/03/2021 Italy bbb 16,730,000 18/12/2020 Egypt ccc 546 24/08/2020 Egypt ccc 4 24/08/2020 Egypt ccc 6 27/08/2019 Italy aaa 7,567 27/08/2019 Italy aaa 56 27/08/2019 Italy aaa 4,534 27/08/2019 Italy aaa 53 27/08/2019 Italy bbb 634 27/08/2019 Italy bbb 42 27/08/2019 Italy bbb 5,423 27/08/2019 Italy bbb 534 23/07/2019 Egypt ccc 635 22/07/2019 Egypt ccc 6 21/07/2019 Egypt ccc 457 20/07/2019 Egypt ddd 4 19/07/2019 Egypt ddd 657 18/07/2019 Egypt eee 65,765 17/07/2019 Egypt eee 746 16/07/2019 Egypt ddd 74 15/07/2019 Egypt ddd 5,435 I want a pie chart and a table to gather the total amount for each country using the latest date of each asset reference that is available and ignore values for any date prior to the latest date for that asset. So essentially, in table form (which i can also easily switch to a pie using the same logic) it would give me the following values: Country Total Value Italy 4,366 Egypt 56,540,004 How can I achieve this? All I am getting at the moment is a total amount for Country that sums up every value against every date for every asset reference. All I want is country totals that only adds values of assets with that have the latest date only for that asset. I hope that makes sense! Any help would be really appreciated!Solved3.1KViews0likes17Comments
