All Power BI Reports are failing to render in report server access portal or let me click the three dots to manage after recent update - box simply pops up saying "An error has occurred. Something went wrong. Please try again later." I recently took over Power BI Report Server upgrades after my team lead left. I navigated to (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-bi/report-server), chose Advanced download options, and downloaded PowerBIReportServer.exe on the appropriate machine. I ran the January 2025 upgrade as a logged on user with Administrator privileges (not directly "Run as Administrator" on the .exe, if that matters), and performed the upgrade. After the recommended restart, I browsed to the report server URL and downloaded and installed the adjaced January 2025 Power BI Desktop optimized for Power BI Report Server. When I went to test functionality per SOP, immediately noticed Power BI Reports will not load or let me click the three dots to manage/interact in any way. Can anyone help me resolve this or had similar issue? I have browsed the log files located at (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\PBIRS\LogFiles) but not found anything obvious. Usually these upgrades are straight forward and we just test for the sake of procedure. Thanks! Hello, I recently upgraded Power BI Report Server to the January 2025 release and Power BI Desktop for RS to January 2025 version. Now when I navigate through the portal url to access reports, Paginated reports load as expected but all Power BI (.pbix) reports when clicked on to open render, "An error has occurred. Something went wrong. Please try again later." dialogue box. Same for any attempts to click the three-dots for other options. After digging into the logs at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\XXXXX\LogFiles, I found the entry noted further below. Not sure if worth noting, but this is for our Dev server which can only be accessed currently as HTTP and not HTTPS? Dev: http://xxxxx-dev/bi-Reports/ Prod: https://xxxxx-prod/bi-Reports/ or http://xxxxx-prod/bi-Reports/ Does anyone have any thoughts on how to resolve? I inherited this system for upgrade after my team lead left, and know more about using Power BI Report Server and Development than Configuration. Hello Community, we published a report on the Power BI Report Server as usual and after that the report was also available normally. The next day, however, the entire content of the report (all tabs including all visuals) was gone. Also in Power BI Desktop all tabs were gone, only the data modeling was still there. So far, the problem only occurred when using Power BI via a remote desktop, locally the problem has not occurred yet. We are using the Power BI Report Server version October 2020. Is anyone aware of this problem? Kind regards NiHi719Views0likes1CommentPBIRS Blank Home Folder
I updated to the October 2020 and then installed the November 2020 update of Power BI Report Server. Ever since that update, if I deploy a new report (with or without the Store datasets using enhanced metadata format on) it works fine for a little bit and then it will stop loading data. Eventually, I get an error that says "Oops something went wrong" with no additional details. When I jump on to the web port the Home folder is completely blank. I have to restart PBIRS to get it to come back. My dataset is not huge. It is a table just under 3000 rows in a tabular model running direct query. Is this issue related to some of the other issues users are experiencing with this release?997Views0likes2CommentsPowerBI Report server is hang when a lot of error "rsHttpRuntimeClientDisconnectionError" happen
Hi All, Currently we use PowerBI Report server 2014 with sqlserver 2014 SP2-CU5 . we found issue PowerBI report cannot render any report and we found a lot of error "rsHttpRuntimeClientDisconnectionError" . Actually We have application call 2-3 reports and application reduce timeout (in apps) before a lot of error happen so now application rollback timeout config to original value which help"rsHttpRuntimeClientDisconnectionError" gone. So I curious that why when PowerBI Report server have a lot of rsHttpRuntimeClientDisconnectionError error ,it impacts all reports cannot open . Do you have idea? or any configuration should be adjust in PowerBI Report server ? thank you, PeachSolved2.5KViews0likes1CommentOData exception occurred: System.ObjectDisposedException: Safe handle has been closed

Also, we configured SQL Server Reporting Services on the same Windows Server and the SSRS Portal also doesn't work, but it shows error "No connection to the website" and no error in log file. This issue arose after installing the Power BI Report Server January 2020 update. Embedded views don't work anymore from TFS/Devops. The issue is similar to this one, but now Chrome is also affected, for the old issue see https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Report-Server/IE-and-Edge-Report-error-This-content-cannot-be-displayed-in-a/td-p/318281Solved7.7KViews0likes2CommentsTimeout at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Tabular.Model.SaveChanges(SaveOptions saveOptions)

I have two other servers that are not experiencing this error running Developer edition of PBIRS while this is running EE SA edition with a valid key. I've compared services, permissions, properties, etc. The only difference I see is that the Installation size in Add/Remove is 192MB while the Developer versions are 91.5MB. My last resort (which I'd like to avoid) is to uninstall/reinstall with a new database and re-publish all of the reports. Any thoughts?Solved866Views0likes1Comment
