Team, Need an urgent step by step assistance to migrate all the user accounts (after a domain change post merger i.e. post merger user was changed from [email protected] to [email protected]) from previous organization to the new Organization without impacting the current Power BI setup post merger. The current senario: Have Power BI Reports on the Report Server that are configured to be accessible/ viewable via three different Dashboards using Share Point as the interface. Each Dashboard and reports residing are controlled by permissions set at the AD level and in Share Point. Looking for ideas on how to transition the reports to Power BI Premium (via Service). Is it possible to create sub workspaces with different permissions? Design ideas of the Interface would be welcome. Thank you.1KViews0likes4CommentsNew User Group & Announcement of the SSRS/PBIRS Migration Tool to Power BI

Hello - this is more of a general question for migrations. We have an instance of Power BI Report Server (May 2020) running on an older server that I'm moving to a VM. I'm at the point where I'm installing Power BI Report Server on the VM. Do the report server versions have to match or can I just install the latest?Solved582Views0likes1CommentMigration of SSRS report server to Power BI REportServer with out client ID in RDL Migration tool
I am planning to migrate some of the SSRS reports to Power BI Report Server, I downloaded RDLMigration tool from here https://github.com/microsoft/RdlMigration. After downloading RDLMigration it is asking to pass the Client Id. In our environment we dont have any cloud based power BI reports not even workspaces. I want to pass something like below, it is erroring out. Is it possible to use this with out Client ID or is it mandatory to use client ID in this tool please? I found this Microsoft documentation but I couldn't anywhere on the page what "-e" means. I looked at the ssrs_migration.rss file and there is no mention of what -e Mgtm2010 even means. Do I need to use -e in my environment? If so, instead of Mgmt2010, what should it be? Thanks!9KViews0likes29CommentsIssue while migrating Power BI server database to AWS RDS
HI All, We are facing issues when trying to migrate the power bi report server database which we have on the standalone SQL server instance to a AWS RDS. We were able to restore the database to RDS using native back up file but unable to configure the power bi report server with the restored database. We get below error message when trying to configure the database. Not sure what permissions we are missing. What permissions we will need to be able to make this work. Hi! I am in the middle of separating Power BI Report Server portal to another machine (lets call id Machine2) from current server where it is running now (lets call it Machine1). I want to use the same SQL database from Machine1 because of not compete'ing for resources (mainly CPU) in this scenario. I have an issue with decrypting restored encryption keys and I can't overcome it. I've connected to my database, restore the encryption key (backed up previously on Machine1) and the portal is working fine. I can see all my folders/reports. The problem starts when I try to open Manage->Data Sources because it looks that sensitive information can't be encrypted. I get an error: and when clicking OK - the portal tries to redirect me to the wrong report link with "/browse/" instead of "/powerbi/" inside. In the RS Portal log file I get like below. Can someone help me with this? What could be the reason? My new portal is upgraded to Sep21 version. 2021-10-06 11:07:51.1782|ERROR|7|Decryption failed, Current user: (edited -my service account user)| RequestID = s_abf2472f-056a-4375-811e-41a787c25913
