Hi all, Good day. Faily new to this Power BI Report Server game, would appreciate if you can assist on the following query. Is Power BI Report Server works the same way as SSRS, in term of scalability, load balancing, clustering and HA, as well as data encryption? I have seaerched through the community, able to gathered the following informing, but mainly on SQL server or SSRS. Do we have any document/link that is focus on Power BI Report Server with the required information? Thanks. Hi All My configuration doesn't appear to work. Everything looks okay but if I turn off pbiapp2(app server 2) all good but if I turn of pbiapp1(app server 1) it doesn't look like it is working with the load balancer. and I get an error See my steps below I followed this url https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/reporting-services/install-windows/configure-a-native-mode-report-server-scale-out-deployment?view=sql-server-ver15 Current app servers: pbiapp1/pbiapp2 Power bi instance: https://pbiinst.stuff.org.au Current Load balancer: https://pbi.lb.stuff.org.au Installed matching report server version joined the 2nd instance via scale deployment both connecting to the same database Load Balancer Config Added regkey "BackConnectionHostNames" To Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0 Added the value: https://pbiinst.stuff.org.au With : \Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Report Server\PBIRS\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config Added Machine Key generated using "Generate-MachineKey" to the <configuration> section Add Hostname of NLB TO <service> <Hostname>https://pbiinst.lb.stuff.org.au</Hostname> UPDATED urlroot of powerbi to <service> <UrlRoot>https://pbiinst.stuff.org.au/reportserver</UrlRoot> Thanks Kez1.3KViews0likes1CommentLoad Balance, Scaled Out, Basic Authentication, local user access
We are running the January 2019 with the latest March patch of PBIRS. I have SSL going and it is working great, thank you very much for the patch. Now I need to implement basic authentication, but PBIRS keep rejecting my local user. Is there a way to do LOCAL\<user>? I can't seem to get it to take that. When I type myServer1\User1, it will initially save and then disappear. Same goes for myServer2\User1. The general idea is to have a local user on both nodes, because we cannot predict which node will be given the work by the load balancer. We need basic authentication, so that it can be hit from the DMZ. Thanks for the help!588Views0likes0Comments
