gateways

I am getting this error message when refreshing (manually or via schedule) on Power BI service. This happened initially on a complex data model but I narrowed it down to being and issue with combine queries. I simulated another example with just 2 tables from 2 databases on the same SQL server. Both tables are appended. All works well on desktop but refresh fails on service. The gateway is installed and has always worked (and still works on other reports that do not use merging/appending queries). I have tried all combinations possible with the privacy settings with no success From other recent posts I understand I am not the only one to have this issue. For info, I do not think that it is the merging itself that causes the problem. I tried with 2 Excel tables on a SharePoint site and that worked just fine. Hi there, I have setup a Reporting with different sources: MySQL MailChimp Google Analytics Excel Files on a Sharepoint folder Within PowerBI desktop the refresh is working fine. For the web version I have setup a on-premises gateway for the mySQL and added the App for MailChimp and Google Analytics but see refresh for the web version is not working. I read that there are problems if you combine different sources at the web version. I also saw that after the upload the datasets are all in one instead of 4 different datasets(for each source one dataset) I have also found the following idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/13405644-combine-enterprise-gateway-and-online-data-sources Is there no workaround for this issue at the moment? Hi, I have implemented Power BI embedded in a web app and used the Python script to import the on-premises data to the Power BI. I use the power BI embedded generated sample .NET file without Channing anything. Question: Can we do the data automatically refresh without using the on-premises data gateway (personal mode) in the above embedded option? Can explain how to implement the automatic data refresh for Power BI embedded?667Views0likes1CommentThe On-premises data gateway installation has failed

Hello everyone, I'm running some tests with Data Fabric to retrieve data from Oracle and send it to the Lakehouse. I subscribed to the F2 license for testing purposes. Essentially, I create a Dataflow Gen2 pipeline to fetch a sales table from Oracle. This table has 200 million records and is over 120GB in size. In my pipeline, when I set a filter to retrieve only 1 day of data from the table, the pipeline works fine. However, when I increase the filter to retrieve 1 month of data, it throws an error. The errors I receive are: - There was a problem refreshing the dataflow. Please review the error message(s) below, fix the problem, and try again. I’m currently trying to connect to our instance of Snowflake from within Power BI Report Builder, and I’m not having a lot of success. Locally on my machine, I’m able to connect just fine using the ODBC connector. However, after publishing the report to a Power BI workspace I’m unable to actually run the report or manage the data source credentials. Have you encountered this kind of issue before with another client? If you’re not the right person to ask this question, please let me know. Just to give a little more context, we need to be able to connect to our instance of Power BI. Upon connecting, we would also need to be able to enter in Query text in the dataset properties window; and, if applicable, create an parameters needed for the report. We have a lot of existing reports that are pointed at our Azure SQL Database, and we’d like to be able to now point those at Snowflake. Most of those existing reports are made up of either query text, or executing a stored procedure. We have a on-prem gateway as well as a vNet gateway configured, but I'm wondering if it's not configured correctly.Solved6.1KViews0likes3CommentsGateway reports having a network connectivity issue with latest install

Hi , I have a MYSQL as Datasource from which I pull data created some custom calculated column and now implemented it using Power Bi visuals. Now I am facing issue in seeing the Live data. To see the real time data I need to go to Refresh button in reports and then the data gets updated. I checked in Settings there is a option to Schedule refresh but even that is disabled. I see there is some Gateway thing which needs to be established but I am not getting the right documentation for that. I would like to know how to configure Gateway, when it is a required, and what should I do to automatically refresh my dataset4.9KViews0likes7Comments
