I have Power BI Report Server (October 2017) installed. I just published a Power BI report to the PBIRS from Power BI Desktop (October 2017) that uses an Excel data source and one that runs on a blank query (select 1 from dual). When I run either report I see "Service Unavailable. HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." with the loading data image. I am able to run a Paginated Report successfully and connect to database data sources using KPIs and Paginated Reports. There doesn't appear to be anything in any of the logs showing this error. We are not using SSL. I have restarted the PBIRS service and also rebooted the server (Windows Server 2016) with no luck. I am new to Power BISolved26KViews0likes2CommentsFailure in conceptualschema

Hi guys, Last year my collegue wrote a dax formula for my BI report. Unfortunately he is no longer working at my firm. Couple of days ago the datasource of my report was moved into the cloud. An internal error occurred on the report server database.
Hello, I am trying to troubleshoot a PowerBI report server issue for my clients. : An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. I am not finding any connection failures, timeouts or low disk space on the servers. In this setup we have two Power BI Report Server instances that are scaled out. Both are version 15.0.1102.235. For the backend we have two SQL 2016 instances at the latest CU. The ReportServer Databases are in a High-Availability group. The PowerBI service account is a gMSA account. This same account is used as the database credential. Report server is also configured to use RSWindowsNegotiate. It has been noticed that if we create a refresh plan while the Database Listener is pointing to Node 1 it works fine for the client. However if it is failed over to Node 2 the client as well as myself as an admin get an error. I used RedGate compare to confirm that Node 1 and Node 2 are identical. I then went ahead and enabled Verbose logging on the report server and started a SQL Server Profiler Trace for the backend. Here are the results: SQL Profiler: exec CreateSubscription @Report_Name=N'/client/clientrep',@ReportZone=0,@id='E2C8394D-8B64-4762-83E4-6FCE7C21E4BC',@OwnerSid=0x010500000000000515000000482DD770E9674F175F52937B51600200,@OwnerName=N'domain\me',@OwnerAuthType=1,@Locale=N'en-CA',@DeliveryExtension=default,@InactiveFlags=0,@ModifiedBySid=0x010500000000000515000000482DD770E9674F175F52937B51600200,@ModifiedByName=N'domain\me',@ModifiedByAuthType=1,@ModifiedDate='2019-06-06 12:31:47.460',@Description=N'test',@LastStatus=N'New Scheduled Refresh Plan',@EventType=N'DataModelRefresh',@MatchData=N'<ScheduleDefinition><StartDateTime>06/06/2019 02:00:00</StartDateTime><DailyRecurrence xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/03/01/ReportServer"><DaysInterval>1</DaysInterval></DailyRecurrence></ScheduleDefinition>',@Version=3 RS Log: 2019-06-06 12:31:47.4604|ERROR|20|OData exception occurred: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: An error occurred within the report server database. PBIRS (march 2018) is having trouble handling certain (all?) non-standard ASCII-characters in folder names. When a folder contains non-standard ASCII a new report gets the name converted to all lower case. If the name of the report is corrected then the report cannot be updated/overwritten from PBI Desktop RS without getting the error "Sorry, you don't have the permission to save in this folder". How to replicate: Create a folder with a non-standard ASCII like a umlaut 'ä'. For example the name 'Blä' Create a new report with the name "Abc" in Power BI Desktop RS and save it in that folder. There is no error message, but the name of the report is converted to lower case (abc). This is not the case if the folder's name would have been 'Bla' Now choose Manage for the report and change the name to Abc If now try to overwrite the report from PBI Desktop RS, or update it using "Edit in Power BI Desktop" from within the PBIRS-page and then choose "File->Save" i PBI Desktop RS, you will get the error "Sorry, you don't have the permission to save in this folder" If you at this point change the folder name to 'Bla' then you can overwrite/update the report without error. You will also run into the similar problems if the report's name contins these characters. This makes it quite annoying to update reports that are saved in PBIRS. The workaround is to Choose "Edit in Power BI Desktop" Make the changes Delete the report from PBIRS Save the report as a new report Change the name to the correct upper and lower case name Update the report's description since it is lost The collation of the report database (PBIReportServer) is Latin1_General_100_CI_AS_KS_WS Hope this can be fixed! /Daniel4.7KViews1like4CommentsSUM using DAX for each year
Hello everyone, I have a table with two columns: "Year" and "Sum of Data". Basically, the "Sum of Data" column shows the total amount for each year. Now, I'm trying to get the same total using a DAX formula, which I'll need for future work. But here's the catch: the result I'm getting from the DAX formula doesn't match the automatic sum I'm getting from the "Sum of Data" column. I've included the DAX formula below: AnnualRateTotal = CALCULATE( SUM(DataTable[Rate per 100,000]), ALLEXCEPT(DataTable, DataTable[Year]) ) I've tried to recreate the issue using demo data, but surprisingly, the DAX formula works fine there. Unfortunately, I can't share the main data or the Power BI file. I'm sorry about that. If anyone knows a DAX formula that can give me the same result as the "Sum of Data" column, I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you so much for your help.Solved4.5KViews0likes9CommentsError Code: 530035
Error Code: 530035 Hi! My colleague is trying to access the web version of Power Bi and is facing the following problem. An attempt to log in occurs through just the Power Bi service, as well as direct access to the report to which he has been granted access. However, in any case, such an error appears. Prompt, with what it can be connected? The account on Microsoft 365 and Azure has not yet been created, so there can be no blocking from the administrator (me). Despite the fact that everything works stably for other colleagues within our company. Please tell me how to fix the problem?
