Default Grow To Fit, Auto-Size Width - October 2025 Release
To PBI developers and fellow users, The new October update bringing Grow to fit as a default has been frustrating to work with. As someone who has used Power BI for the better part of a decade I find it much cleaner and user friendly to manage my column widths instead of arbitrarily assigning widths based on the space of a block. This is how we all have been doing for years. Per the release notes: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-october-2025-feature-summary/ Auto expand table columns The Grow to fit option distributes extra space across columns for cleaner visuals. And I'm not the only one: As Kyle puts it, we are frustrated by being forced default options that, in our opinion, degrade user experience. I encourage making the service easier for new users to drop in things and make it look pretty with minimal effort. But now I have to go into each table and switch this setting each time I want to return to a traditionally auto-sized column. Please make the default "Fit to Content". Or at least give an option to set a client preference for one or the other. Thank you, generatorsam
Matrix table: how the columns dynamically live in the middle of the visual objects
At the top of the figure is the matrix table, at the bottom is the bar chart, and on the right is the filter. No matter how many options (one or more) the filter chooses, the bar chart can be in the middle of the visual object. How can the matrix table also achieve this effect?(Note:The matrix table is automatically aligned from the left,I want to be in the middle of visual objects no matter how many columns.)
How to make data that are unavailable in my dataset to show % automatically when data is present
Hello, i need some advice on how to handle the visual automatically when data is available. Problem now is some data is not available yet in my dataset. Currently, my dataset does not have Severity = S2 data. Only have S3 and S4 data. I manually hardcoded it to show N/A for S2. See snippet (A). How can i handle this automatically when data is available instead of hardcoding? (A) I don't know why when i applied the same measure for S3 and S4 on S2 Tile, it shows 100% eventho' there's no S2 data present. See snippet (B) (B) Please help. Hello, Microsoft introduced a new feature "export current theme". In this, when we go to Home > switch theme > customize current theme > Text In General, we get warning message " Text formatting can't be customized in custom or built-in themes that were added to reports before September 2019. " I need to understand what is the warning for and with this font family, size all are disabled for Text.
