I am using an MSI laptop with an AMD Ryzen 5 7000 Series processor and 16 GB of RAM. Over the past week, I have been experiencing issues with Power BI. When I open two or more PBIX files, the application crashes, and occasionally it throws an out-of-memory error. ATF for your reference.Solved2.5KViews0likes5CommentsCopying Field Parameters to Onpremises (Remote Server) PBIX
Hi, I am trying to find a correct and efficient way to copy the Field Parameters from an existing PIBX (in Desktop 2.145 64-bit, July 2025) to a new empty PBIX file (in Onpremises-Remote Server). In the Onpremises-Remote Server version, one cannot use the Tabular Editor tool. Also, I am unable to see the Field Parameters in Transform Data, of the already-completed Desktop version (from where I could copy them over to the new PBIX of Onpremises (Remote Server) version). It is only showing the Tables themselves: Kindly advise how I can copy over the Field Parameters. RegardsSolved706Views0likes3CommentsDefault Grow To Fit, Auto-Size Width - October 2025 Release
To PBI developers and fellow users, The new October update bringing Grow to fit as a default has been frustrating to work with. As someone who has used Power BI for the better part of a decade I find it much cleaner and user friendly to manage my column widths instead of arbitrarily assigning widths based on the space of a block. This is how we all have been doing for years. Per the release notes: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-october-2025-feature-summary/ Auto expand table columns The Grow to fit option distributes extra space across columns for cleaner visuals. And I'm not the only one: As Kyle puts it, we are frustrated by being forced default options that, in our opinion, degrade user experience. I encourage making the service easier for new users to drop in things and make it look pretty with minimal effort. But now I have to go into each table and switch this setting each time I want to return to a traditionally auto-sized column. Please make the default "Fit to Content". Or at least give an option to set a client preference for one or the other. Thank you, generatorsam6.9KViews17likes11CommentsPower BI Slicer - Between Dates don't get the latest date
Hello everybody!! I need some help with the date slicer on Power BI Desktop. When I create my Dashboard, I put an slicer between two dates, that are my first and last date based on my Calendar table (it's based on my first ticket creation date, on my tickets table, and "today" function). After, I publish it on my Report Server, set the schedule refresh, everything is okay. But on the next day, when I'll check the Dashboard, after the refresh, the last date wasn't the most recent date (or today, in that case), but the date when I published the Dashboard, so the viewer needs to slide the filter to the right to get the actual date, or click on the "clean filters" button. That's the example of date filter that I'm using. It was published on Jul,11 (it's on Brazilian format), and the second image, is the today refresh. Note that the first date changes too, because the Dashboard was published with data from Apr, 11 2019 to Jul, 11 2024, so at the refresh, my source data was only after Jan, 2 2023 There's some solution based on this? I've the latest release of Power BI Desktop and Report Server, but I didn't find any settings to do that. I've searched in a bunch of topics here, on Stack Overflow, Reddit, but didn't find anything specific for that.Solved3.7KViews0likes2Comments% Difference from Total Average

Hi community, I have been working on this visual for some time now. I’ve had members help me along the way which has saved me greatly. I am having issues with implementing conditional formatting on a bar chart depending on measures - I have been trying to create a type of bar chart where each bar may be coloured depending on measures. This is how the bar chart looks like: I have used this for conditional formatting: Conditional Formatting Measure = Switch(TRUE(), SELECTEDVALUE('Aggregate'[PerformanceLevel]) = "Meets " && [Meets%]+[Exceeds%] > 90, "orange", SELECTEDVALUE('Aggregate'[PerformanceLevel]) = "Marginal" && [Marginal%] + [Below%] > 40, "yellow", SELECTEDVALUE('Aggregate'[PerformanceLevel]) = "Exceeds" && [Exceeds%] > 30, "green", SELECTEDVALUE('Aggregate'[PerformanceLevel]) = "Below" && [Below%] > 15, "red", "grey") When there is a sum used in the condition, the bar does not change colour – the sum is not taken into account. I have many instances where Marginal+Below>40 and Meets+Exceeds>90 but the bar doesn't change colour. Here is a link to a sample workbook: google drive I would really appreciate any help and guidance on this. I don't understand why the sum is being ignored.Solved1.3KViews0likes7CommentsShape map in Power BI Desktop RS
Hello community, Last september, I created a report on PBI Desktop for Report Server which contained a shape map (with a TopoJSON file). But today, when I reopened it to do a modification, the component had disappeared from the visualizations pane. The visual is still present in the report, but it is not possible to add a new one (except by copy/paste the old visual). Is it normal that this component disappeared from the visualizations pane?3.5KViews0likes4CommentsIndividual Row Colors in Matrix
Hello! I am attempting to color individual rows of a matrix. I understand this is not currently a feature in Power BI, but using this YouTube video, I was able to find a work around. I used the below measure, which I used as Conditional Formatting, to color the rows based on the HEX color listed in each row of the measure. However, this seems to exclude cells with a zero/blank value. How can I modify the below measure to ensure all cells for each row have the same formatting? For instance, "In Transit Receipts" shows many white cells because they have no value. I would like these cells to be the same light blue color as the cells with a value. Metric Colors = SWITCH( TRUE(), MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Forecast","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Sales Order","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Global Sales Orders","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Global Forecast","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="DI Forecast","#e6e6e6", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Stock Transfer (Out)","White", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="SAP Suggested Buy","#e6e6e6", max('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="In Transit Receipts","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Confirmed Receipts","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Additional Confirmed Receipts (Inc STO In)","#d9e1f2", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Total Demand","#09124f", MAX('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Total Receipts","#09124f", max('APO Monthly'[MetricNew])="Stock On Hand (Projected)","#055201", "White" ) Thank you!Solved1.9KViews0likes4CommentsHow to filter sum function within Tablix using value within row
Im having trouble with power BI Report Builder for somthing that feels like it could be pretty simple but isnt and it may be because i dont understand how to refrence values that are in diffrent scopes. Basically i have 2 tables, one is a table that just has jobs listed on it(So like Project Manager, Anylist, that kind of thing) and another that lists hours worked each week by diffrent people, and it includes a column that refrences what position they are, so it would be a one to many relationship between Job DataSet and Worked DataSet on their column. I have a tablix that is using the Jobs DataSet and what i want to do is have a column that sums up all of the hours worked, but filter it so that it only sums up the ones who their Job column is equal to the Job value of the row on the table, but i just cant get it to work. I can get it to only sum up ones whos Job column matches a static string, and a perameter, but i just cant for the life of me get it to use values within the row itself. Anyone have any help? Thanks!Solved387Views0likes1CommentCannot load model
Hi, When I open my .pbix file in Power BI Desktop app, I immediately get this message: Interestingly, the associated PowerBI report in the workspace seems to be refreshing from the model (and linked datasources) regularly. I need to make changes to the model however, and I can't do so in PowerBI Desktop, because of the 'Cannot load model' window. None of the visualisations appear in the Desktop app when i close the error message. I have found this page that refers to 'Analysis Services' also, but I don't know whether this is the right place to go to to try and rectify and overcome the issue. Any help would be much appreciated.Solved1.3KViews0likes1Comment
