I work in the niche between accounting and IT. I changed my career from full-time accounting to systems work, and have been on a long journey from Excel > VBA > Access > SQL Server > Power Query > DAX > Power Pivot > Power BI. Now I'm looking into the wider Power Platform opportunities, and I'm excited by the potential for automation within accounts departments, as well as the bread and butter of improving reporting. Every time someone wants to do some accounting work they have to do IT work first. They often don't think of it that way and are unaware of the tools out there to help them, many of which are in Power Platform.
