"Spider Query" in Power BI
Similar to what we have seen with the "Spring Break Covid" Analysis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq2zuE3ISYU) It would be a nice feature if you, as a users, could navigate a chart/grid and then right click a member to select which of the "underlying" attribute members that you would like to "send" to the filter. Imagine that you are making an analysis of Total Sales pr. Product for 2021 in a matrix. For product X you would now want to continue analysing other things for all those Customers who bought product x in 2021. So by right-clicking on Product X, you could now choose to "Send underlying Customer -> Customer Number" to Filterpane. It might be 1.000+ customers and you don't want to find all those one by one. As shown in the video a similar "filtering" is made by using a map, circling in those IMEI numbers for a specific point in time -> sending those to the filter pane, releasing the focus on the map, and then following those filtered IMEI numbers through time135Views1like1CommentUse Pivot in Excel Online to analyse data in Analysis Services
Back in the days of Sharepoint 2010 users would be able to browse and analyse data in Analysis Services by using Excel Services. This feature should be possible in the Power BI service when publishing an Excel Workbook to the PBI workspace. Imagine that a contributer could choose "Analyze in Excel", make a nice template Pivot in Excel, Publish it to the workspace, include it in the Workspace App and have users being able to use the Excel Pivot in Excel Online97Views1like1CommentRe: Route "Analyze in Excel" ODC through Power BI API & on-premises Gateway
It's sad that the PBI focus more on adding new connectors than fixing problems with their existing ones. Why not complete the circle. Analyse in Excel -> make nice Pivot -> Publish to PBI workspace -> Browse in Excel Online in PBI Portal. Requested 6 years.... still waiting :-)672Views0likes0CommentsRe: Adding a "Hide Page" option
We need this feature as well. Maybe you are working on a few new pages for a team, but you don't want to have them visible yet. At the same time you have to make a change to another page and publish the workbook. With the hide, you don't need to maintain multiple workbooks for the same area. Another approach would be to make it possible to select the pages that are to be published, when clicking the Publish button - like when you save Excel to Excel Services and only picks specific Sheets when saving.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsAbility to change SSAS Live connection
SSAS Live Connection is great, but once established it's not possible to change the Data Source Catalog. Only the Server Name can currently be changed. We have a set of identical cubes on one server, only difference is the data (one pr customer). So we would like to create one set of PowerBI template reports and only have to change the Catalog before Publishing to each Customer.148Views22likes1Comment
