setup on-premises data gateway setup
Hi,
Very basic quesion, I hope someone will quickly answer this.
I have installed on-premises data gateway on the server where SQL server is installed. An application user is created which is logged into on-premises gateway and it is ON 24/7 on that server. Do I need to add this application user into list of Pro-licence so I can log on to Azure service and see on-premises gateway for schedule refresh.
Not able to see any on-premsis gateway available for schedule refresh. How can I find this gateway available on Power BI Azure service?
Many tthanks

The account which you used in the on-prem gateway should have a pro license. Then once you login to app.powerbi.com using the application user account, you can see the gateway name under the manage gateway module.
You can also add other users (Pro license) as the gateway admin, which would allow him to manage gateway settings.

Thanks nandukrishnavs
We have Premium P1 and my personal username is allocated with Pro licence. Only issue is when I go to apps.powerbi.com and select option 'manage gateway' It displays
You do not have any gateways
Do I need to deploy any report under application account to see available list of data gateways.
Many thanks

Option 1- you can use your username while configuring the enterprise gateway. Then you will be the gateway admin. And you can find that gateway name under "manage gateway" view.
Option 2- you can use another username (service account) while configuring the enterprise gateway. Then using that account, provide admin access to your personal username. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-manage
