    Hi PaulusD,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

This issue typically occurs due to an improper configuration or recent changes in the Power BI environment that enforce stricter refresh policies for cloud sources.

The error indicates that the cloud data source setting is not allowed to refresh through a gateway.

Cloud data sources like SharePoint Online, Power BI Dataflows, or Azure SQL Database do not require gateways. They leverage cloud connectors to support refresh and scheduled refresh directly in the Power BI service without the need for an on-premises data gateway.

If your data source is cloud-based, please remove the gateways.

To resolve this issue, ensure that the dataset is not associated with any gateway in the Power BI Service settings. Update the credentials for the data source using OAuth2 or another supported authentication method, and verify that the refresh configuration relies on direct cloud connectivity rather than a gateway.

Please le me know if you have any additional questions.
