scheduled refresh for google anayltics data
Hi. If you have created a report with Google Analytics connector and published to service, then you don't need to add any kind of source. Many cloud source don't need that. You just need to open the schedule refresh settings and edit credentials under Data Source Credentials section. Login in there, and you are ready to go.
The sources you are adding in there are for using an onpremise data gateway that is not necessary for this connector.
I hope that helps,

Thanks for your reply.
So I am also connected to a sql database which uses the on premise gateway and can refresh.
I have just created a test and only connected to google analytics and the refresh worked.
Is it not possible to schedule a refresh for both SQL and GA data of the same dashboard? As my dashboard combines both.
Thanks

Ok. Let's see. You have a datasource with a SQL Server onpremise and Google Analytics Cloud. Alright, if you want to work with both sources (cloud and onpremise) then you can do it. You need to install a Gateway as Standard Mode in order to help SQL Server to get refreshed. Once it's installed. The account used for logged in should open Power Bi Service -> Manage Gateways -> open the gateway settings and turn on the following check:
That setting allow you to use a gateway for the onpremise and avoid it for cloud. You can add the SQL Source as you were doing and just edit credential for google analytics like the test you did.
I hope that make sense
