"open data model" is greyed out on the pp.powerbigov.us

Hello Power BI Community:

I am writing to inquire about an issue I am experiencing with the open data model on the app.powerbigov.us. Specifically, the "Open Data Model" function/button appears to be greyed out on the Power BI Service online, and I cannot interact with the feature as expected.

Could you kindly provide some insight into the potential causes of this issue? I am located in the NY, United States. Will it be a Regional availability issue?  Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, @YuniLoNYC

The following scenarios don't support opening the data model for a dataset in the service:

  • Datasets that have incremental refresh.
  • Datasets that have been deployed by a deployment pipeline.
  • Datasets modified by an XMLA endpoint.
  • Datasets that haven't yet been upgraded to enhanced metadata format. You can upgrade to enhanced metadata format by opening the corresponding pbix in Desktop and republishing.
  • Datasets that have automatic aggregations configured.
  • Datasets that have a live connection.
  • Not all datasets in Pro workspaces are currently supported in UAE North.

To see which limitation is preventing you from opening your data model, hover over the Open data model button in the dataset details page. This displays a tooltip indicating which limitation is causing the Open data model button to be disabled.

Probably is regional, but will be stranger... Anyway, in Brazil is ok, consider we are talking about same thing.
