gantt chart visual start and end date
I have downloaded the Gant Chart visual and started to build out a report based on data from MS Project Online.
I checked Project Name, Start Date, Finish, Date and % Complete (see visual)
My problem is the start and end dates seen in the data do not reflect in the gantt chart and for the life of me i cant figure out why.
First time poster so any help appreciated.

First time user of Power BI and need some help.
I have sucesfully connected MS Project Online and am pulling in all the right data (as far as I can tell) and all is working well, Project Name, Start Date, Finish Date, % Complete and Owner (PM).
There is however one exception and I just cant figure it out.
The duration shown in MS Project is being multiplied by 8 (hours) therefore extending the timelines by decades, an example is shown in the screen shot
MS Project duration = 622d
Power BI duration = 4976
4976/8 = 622
Any help greatly appreciated

How does the table imported in Power BI desktop look like? Can you share some sample data about Project Name, Start Date, Finish, Date and % Complete?
You can follow this blog to create a Gantt chart: Visual Awesomeness Unlocked – Gantt chart. By the way, please try to run the latest desktop version 2.48.4792.481 64-bit (July 2017) to create the report.

Thanks for the reply, I have'nt imported a table I jhave just linked it to the MS Project site, where the data is held in various project plans, out put is seen in the screen shot.
I did this in the BI online version as I was unable to connect MS Project using the desktiop version.
I downloaded the visual based on the article you mentioned and followed that and a few different articles guidance, as mentioned I have it all working ok its just this duration conversion that seems to be an issue, I cant understand why it would take the stated duration and multiply by 8???
Are you still havI having issues with this? I had the same problem in powerBI but managed to rectify by using the desktop client, connecting to my PWA site and then creating a new column to rectify the fact the gantt visual multiplies by 8. Let me know if you are still having issues.

I tried to connect the desktop app with PWA using O365 credentials but was unsucessful, I'm having my IT team look at it for me, but when/if I manage to connect how do I go about adding a new colum?
