Good Morning,
One question, if I develop a Power BI for example from Spain and upload it to the cloud service and share it with users within my organization who are from the US, the following happens to me:
If in a visualization there is a date field, being created in Spain, it appears with the format dd/mm/yyyy. The US user sees it also in this format. I understand that Power BI is designed to be used internationally and must have an option that allows modifying the formats based on where are working with it or the language of the browser that is using. How can this be done?
I want to say that in slicers, all work fine and the format change depending browser language but if i have a table for example where y put a column with dates, this dates, don't change the format.
Thank you,
Greetings
Hey @Anonymous ,
you can change that by defining a custom format. Then this format will stay independent of the settings of each user:
Use custom format strings in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
Like this you could format it as "dd.mm.yyyy" or something similar. Check the details in the documentation link above.
Thanks you @selimovd ,
But I don't want to have a predefined and fixed format.
What I want is that if a US user enters Power Bi service, he sees the date in American format.
If a user from Spain enters, see the date in Spanish format.
This works fine for date filters but not for table data.
Here is a basic example: i Created this report in Power BI desktop with Spanish format, i publish and now this is what i'm watching with US english browser (date slicers see well but table not):
