are my searches including ws's i dont have viewer on?

Hi i'm getting the sense that when i search for a report we are trying to locate, pbi isnt including hits that might occur on personal ws's of other people and perhaps other ws's also.   even though i have admin.  is that true?   i am aware of a tool i can build from another post to search but would be hesitant to build it if it is limited also.   what do i need to search all ws's ?  i dont think my admin is the highest possible but pbi is sometimes tough to understand.

Hi @db042190 If you are looking for a specific report you might not have access to, you will have to use the REST API to see all the reports

Admin - Reports GetReportsAsAdmin
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/reports-get-reports-as-admin

The Power BI/Fabric Administrator is the highest permission you have for Power BI 🙂
And that would provide you with teh correct permission to find any report in a personal or 'normal' workspace.

Hey @db042190 ,

I believe that the only way to see a report inside of any workspace, would be to be a member (or admin preferrably) of that workspace.  I believe that this applies to the API's as well.  If you run the API against the tenant but are not an admin or have permissions inside of a workspace you can't see the reports within it.  As a tenant admin, however, you can see the list of all the workspaces in the tenant - not just inside of them.

thx wikkleyn, just double checking., so there is no higher admin that would save me the hassle of starting to use that api?   and if i'm just lookinhg for search results on "abcdef" (not even running reports that show) , you are saying i wont see all occurences in the list that is rendered if i dont already have viewer etc on the ws its in?
