Usage Metrics for Individuals
Is there a way to get usage metrics for individual users in a downloadable format?
I'm looking to do some analysis on how often people are using reports, but can't seem to find how to do this. Using Azure I have been able to download how often people have logged into Power BI in the last 7 days, which is at least something.
The organisation currently has around 60 reports, so ideally it needs to be downloadable in a single place.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. You can get usage metrics insights in two ways.
1- You can turn on usage metrics for a report. Then edit or connect a desktop to the dataset in order to check more than one report all together. This will show last 30 days only. You can read more about this here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-modern-usage-metrics
2- The most completed way to do it is building your historic data getting your last 90 days from Power Bi Rest API and storing it anywhere. There is a request "Get Activity Events". The doc of the requests: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/get-activity-events
More infor about get activity events: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-auditing
I hope that helps,
