Unstable scheduled refresh result

I have a test report which is very simple, used to test the scheduled refresh.

The latest on-premises gateway has been installed/updated a few days agao, version number 14.16.6423.3

The refresh results are weird though. Sometimes it's completed, other times it's failed.

When it's failed, the gateway status is actually online when I check on the Power BI Service website.

If I made a manual refresh after failed schedule refresh, it would always succeed.

What is the problem here?

Thanks.

I would ensure that your gateway server does have good connectivity to the internet.

Possibly try with a constant Ping and see if any packets get dropped...

      Hi GilbertQ

The PING command doesn't work, and it has been forbidden by the server provider for security reasons.

      But each manual refresh works.

        hi j_w

Have you gone through the settings in the Gateway to ensure that they say "All good to Go"

Also you could potentially enable the versbose logging, close to a time when a scheduled refresh is about to happen. So that you can then go through the logs and ensure that it had a connection and was working as expected?

There also is an option to use HTTPS instead of Direct TCP, which might help (But make the connection a bit slower)
