Hi,
I am hoping someone can share a solution to this problem that is driving me nuts. I have connected and created a report in power bi desktop and can refresh the data from the desktop app. I am unable to schedule the refresh from the service. The error message is what I receive below.
You can't schedule refresh for this semantic model because the following data sources currently don't support refresh:
Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Greg_Deckler, Thanks for the response. The link to documentation doesn't seem to work. Alos, just to paint a more clear picture around the problem. I have powerbi connected to a cloud solution called jitbit. This is not an on-prem solution that needs a gateway. The source of the data is an HTTPS link with username and password.
@jdiperri2555 OK, but you mentioned a custom connector. So, like a custom connector that you created or a third party created or did you use the standard Web connector?
This is a custom connector that JITBIT created. JITBIT is our helpdesk application and is cloud hosted.
Hey @jdiperri2555 , I am facing the exact same issue, did you managed to find a solution to this? I've reached out Microsoft PBI team but they mention there's nothing we could do for now Jitbit is not certified on their side yet... Thanks Lmk! 🙂
Hi Kontil,
Unfortunately, I came to teh same conclusion and there is no way to automatically refresh the data. Worse yet, there is no support with JITBIT as you know. I am manually refreshing the report everyday. This is one of teh limitations with going with such a cheap platform like JITBIT. We will be most likely moving to Zendesk or a more capable platform next year.
Thanks @jdiperri2555! Have you considered using a PowerShell script? I'm experimenting with it, and hopefully there may be a way to schedule the refresh 🙂
@jdiperri2555 Have a look at this page. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-custom-connectors#considerations-and-limit... has the following note in the section on Considerations and Limitations :
Not sure if that is it or not or something different.
