Unable to retrieve data for this visual object

Thank you all for your enthusiastic answers.
Microsoft customer service representative Lydia Zhang has contacted me. And provided me with an accurate solution. If you have the same question, please refer to the following link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/transform-model/desktop-visual-calculations-overview
HI StarMerx ,
Just to add a bit more clarity here, since this type of error comes up a lot in Power BI. When you see "Unable to retrieve data for this visual object" or a network error message, it’s usually one of three things:
-
Network Issues: The device or browser trying to open the report can’t reach Power BI or the data source. Try switching to a different browser, disabling VPN/proxy, or connecting from another network. Double-check that Power BI domains aren’t being blocked by your firewall or IT department.
-
Permissions & Access: The person opening the link might not have the right permissions, or a Power BI Pro/Premium license (unless it’s a Publish to Web link). If Row-Level Security (RLS) is set up, make sure they have access to the correct data.
-
Dataset Issues: Sometimes it’s a problem with the dataset itself expired credentials, refresh failures, or the data gateway (for on-premises data) being offline. Go to the workspace in Power BI Service, check the dataset for any errors, and re-enter credentials or refresh if needed.
Almost always, these errors boil down to network blocks, missing permissions, or a problem with the dataset connection.
Hello, rohit1991 thank you very much for your answer!
In the above picture, it is mentioned: See details. The result I clicked is: Error when extracting data for this visual object, data for this visual object cannot be retrieved, please try again later. Does this indicate that there is a problem with the dataset connection?
Thanks,
Starmerx
