Unable to connect to Data Source using Data Gateway

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all are doing good. I am trying to use Power BI Gateway but I have got stuck while trying to log in using username and password in the Power BI service webpage. I will let you know what I have done so far. Please see below, I have downloaded the Standard Mode installation file for my PC which is running Windows 11 (64 bit):

After downloading the file, I have installed and created a gateway and I have also made the gateway online in Power BI service. Then I wanted to connect my Power BI service to a data source (CSV file saved in my local desktop) for a demo workspace which I have created for practice. Please see below:

This is where I am getting stuck. I am giving my Windows username and password in the above Power Query window but still I am getting an error message saying "Invalid Credentials". I have taken the above username and password from the below place in Control Panel:

Can anyone please advise me, what username and password I need to give in Power BI service so that I can connect to the data source?

Many Thanks!

Hi Toms. Thanks for your message. I have found the solution later last night. I got the username from MS Dos by typing "WhoAmI" and hitting enter. The correct password was not my current password, it was my immediate previous Microsoft account password.

    Cheers!

What device are you trying to set the gateway up for? If it's the computer you use and want the gateway to run on your computer, rather than a VM somewhere, you should use the gateway personal mode instead and that will work - only note you'll need to have the computer on and signed in at the time of refresh.
