I have a report built with a connection to a server with SQL Server and to some files that I have both locally and in corporate Sharepoint (currently they are configured as Web Data Type and OAuth2 authentication method). This report is scheduled to be updated 5 times a day.
The gateway is installed on my computer and it does not stay on. Because of this, when I turn off my computer the report does not update, the error says "the gateway is either offline or couldn't be reached".
I was checking and I was able to identify that when the computer is offline, Power BI still connects to the server but fails to connect to the Sharepoint files. I would like to know if there is any way that the Sharepoint files do not have to go through the Gateway but it goes directly to Sharepoint to update this connection.
Thanks for your help, best regards.

Hi @Anonymous
The only way that this could work is if your sources are all in the cloud.
If one source is on-premise in your PBIX you will have to always have the gateway on to refresh the dataset.
