Unable to Create New Data Source (Power platform diff region to PowerBI)
We are trying to connect PowerPlatform (App/Automate in AU) to on-prem data via the gateway, so when installing the gateway have configure the Region to Australia East.
From the PP admin portal, we can see the gateway and when clicking New Data Source, we can select it as a gateway but the Create button is always disabled.
Our PowerBI default is West US. We can't use a gateway configured to that region as then Power Platform can't see it (as per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/regions-overview#region-mappings-for-power-automate-and-gateways) so are trying to setup a separate one for Power App/Automate with the same region.
This is the Gateway status:
We can see the gateway is active/online
When trying to create a new Data Source for it, the Create button is always disabled:
When viewing network traffic, we get a 404 error when we select the gateway from the Drop-Down list:
Has anyone been able to manage to get a gateway working where the PowerBI default region is different? Not sure impacts of trying to get the default Power BI region changed as we have a lot of reports already there.
Just to circle back that we managed to resolve. Instead of setting up a DataSource via the Admin Portals (with PowerBI or PowerPlatform), that within Power Apps/Automate, I directly created a Connection and use this to access the on prem data.
