Tiles refreshing incorrectly

Over the past few days I have noticed that my dashboard tiles are not refreshing correctly.  I have tried all the refresh buttons as suggested in other posts, but the only thing that will fix it is deleting the tile and creating a new one.  Then it seems OK for a few days, and it will be wrong again.  Today one refreshed to a different %, but it was completely wrong.  This was very strange becuase when I noticed it before it just wasn't updating, now it updated with a totally different %.

    Hi andymc123 ,

Which connection mode are you using to connect to the data source? For DirectQuery/LiveConnect mode, A tile is a report visual pinned to a dashboard, and dashboard tile refreshes happen about every hour so that the tiles show recent results. The refresh frequency can be changed in the data set settings as below.

    Best Regards,
    Henry

The pbix is built from 3 different Excel files.  Hierarchy, Budget, Data, and then imported.  The files get updated as needed (by me) and when all set I click the refresh button on the dataset.  So it is not Direct Query or Live connect.  I fixed the one I have in the example by deleting the tile and pinning a new one.  They were side by side, linking to the same visual on the same report and showing 2 different numbers.  Since it is live and dozens of people look at it daily I deleted the bad one, and now I can't replicate.  Maybe just some strange intermittnt issue?  At the moment all of mine are good and I can't replicate.  Thought I would ask in case others are seeing the same.

        Hello andymc123

You can try making the dashboard again or try setting up the gateway again as it may be some internal gateway issue.

you can also check if that visual in the report is not been affected by any filters.

if the above solutions do not help you then you can try raising a ticket with the support which will help you to understand the issue form the backend!

        Regards.

  • update.  I Deleted the tile and re-created it and it has been great for about 2 months.  Now today I needed to make an unrelated change to the report and it happened again.  Maybe it is happeing to others?  The fix for me is to delete the tile and re-create (fairly simple).  Still frustrating and puzzing why it happens.  It is not worth submitting a ticket since it is such an easy fix, just feel like I should share in case other see the same issue.
