Technical difference between using the oracle connector vs using a dataflow connection to oracle?

Hi,

Every week we get the error (cannot find gateway) when it tries to connect to the oracle server it starts on saturday and seems to resolve itself by Tuesday.  However the dataflows that connect to oracle seem to work fine with no errors and can find the gateway.

What reason could it be that the oracle using the connector cant find the gateway during those days but the dataflow can?

We are using DEC 2023 gateway.

That certainly is unusual that your data flows still continue to work. What I would suggest doing is upgrading new gateway to the latest version as well as also ensuring that your gateway server can successfully connect to the Oracle server over the weekend. If that store fails, I will chat your Oracle DBA to help troubleshoot the issue.

Yeah we are going to try and access the event logs - if it was failure to conenct though - why would the dataflows refresh okay? Yeah we are in discussion with the Oracle DBA
