technically strong
what is the definition of technical strong (or how do we measure) in a skill like power bi ?
Power BI is a very large environment so it is difficult to give a perfect answer
Nobody know everyting about Power BI, so you will focus (become strong) on one or more of the following
DAX
Power Query & M
Data Modeling
Report creation
Cloud Management

I don't think there's a specific metric to say when someone is technically strong, but there's a couple of factors that will differentiate between a beginner and a pro, at least in my opinion.
Can you clearly tell a story through data in power BI that all stakeholders can understand and take action on?
Can you debug performance issues and optimize your models?
Hope this helps!

in a world enhanced by AI, technical strength might mean,
knowing what to ask for and how to verify what AI gives you understanding why a solution works, not just that it works being able to adapt, debug, and go beyond templates designing data systems and user experiences, not just building reports - v-aatheequeCommunity Support
Just following up on your question about what it means to be technically strong in Power BI.
As mentioned earlier by FBergamaschi wardy912 MasonMA , Power BI covers a wide range of capabilities, so technical strength often depends on how well you’ve developed skills in specific areas. Typically, this includes:
-
DAX for calculations and business logic
-
Power Query (M language) for data transformation
-
Data modeling for building efficient relationships
-
Report design for effective visual communication
-
Cloud service usage for sharing, security, and integration
You don’t need to be an expert in all areas focusing on a few and building depth is usually the best way to grow your technical expertise.

Just following up on your earlier question regarding what defines being technically strong in Power BI.As shared by our wardy912 FBergamaschi , Power BI is a broad platform, and expertise is often built around specific core areas such as:
-
DAX
-
Power Query / M
-
Data Modeling
-
Report Design
-
Cloud Management & Deployment
The guidance provided helps outline how technical strength can be assessed depending on focus areas rather than trying to master everything at once.
