Status code 400

Hi

I am setting up auto refresh in powerbi service on a shared one drive folder. I am trying to pull the excel data from within the shared folder.

I am trying to access a folder in my one drive with getdata and I am getting this error message

-> Failed to update data source credentials: The process cannot access the file

The folder is shared with me from another onedrive account.

I am recieveing the following status code: 400

Is there something unique about setting up auto refresh on Onedrive folders that have been shared with you?

Hi there

Can you make sure under the dataset settings, that you have updated the Credentials to the OneDrive location?

Your error is indicating that the data source credentials are not correct.

So when I try to edit credentials in "data source credentials" I am offered the authentication method WindowsWithoutImpersonation option only.

When I select the privacy level and try to sign in I get the error.

So I believe I am not being offered the option to updated the Credentials to the OneDrive location.

Am I taking the correct steps?

I have noticed that in the original onedrive folder that if I create a folder within the original folder, move the data into that new folder and then reshare with my personal onedrive, then the error does not occur which is interesting.

ok found the solution.

The shared folders were subfolder.

I simply needed to share the root folder and that solved my access issues.

Thanks for letting us know you found a solution!
