Hello friends,
I'm building a report from a semantic model sourced with tables in a lakehouse. To be honest, I'm finding the lack of data modeling, filtering, sorting tools in the Service for modeling as compared to Desktop really frustrating. All this time spent to connect data only to be stumped by a sort feature - argh!
In Desktop you can select a column in a table (like week of year) and sort that by another column in the same table. That way I can have a chart by week in ascending/descending order. I know how to do this in Desktop with a date table I build in M or using DAX, but with tables sourced from a Lakehouse, I have lost that table sorting flexibility. This really puts a strain on my build as I have to go redesign how we do our Date table. Unless, is there a setting I'm missing?
I thought maybe it was because I was on the Service, so I popped over to desktop and connected to OneLake to get this model and the setting to sort the date table is still disabled?
What are others doing to over come this?
Thank you!
Jessie

Hi @JessieF
Yeah, this is currently a work in progress to get parity between the service and the power BI desktop, right? now, unfortunately, that is not available. You can create or vote for the idea here: https://ideas.powerbi.com
I added the idea here

Thanks for the reply @GilbertQ .
