Set Data Source Credentials so 1 click refreshes don't work

Good Morning,

Is there anyway to reconfigure data source credentials so an accidental 1 click refresh will fail? I'm trying to mitigate this risk for reports I want to stay static.

I've tried changing the privacy level off organisational and the authentication method - is there anyway this can be done effectively for a SharePoint List data source?

Are there any other potential options for this using any other menus from the scheduled refresh page?

EDIT: I have managed to achieve this with an OData Feed but can't seem to manage it with a SharePoint list source

Thanks! 🙂

    Hi pigsinblankets ,

In fact I've been testing for the past few days, from the refresh settings on the Service to the settings for the data source, but unfortunately I haven't figured out a solution.
In Power BI Service, you can't do it if you want to do a manual refresh yourself, you can only disable refresh for others after you share it with others.
If you want to implement static reporting, you can choose to use the import mode to connect to a data source without having to configure a gateway for that data source after publishing to the Service, so that even if new content is added to the data source and you refresh it, the content of the report will not change.

    Hi pigsinblankets ,

What do you mean by one-click refresh? Is it a manual refresh?

Do you only want to disable manual refresh but at same time want your report to get refresh as per schedule then its not Possible
But as you mentioned, if you want your report to be static, then you can go and delete the credenatials from dataset settings
