Semantic model refresh does not refresh data in report
- 10 months ago
I think I may have a solution... I've added a step to hit the endpoint with a simple query before refreshing my model, looks like it might do the trick.
You may want to follow my thread on the subject here: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/Semantic-Model-connected-to-Lakehouse-SQL-Analytics-endpoint-not/m-p/4828558/highlight/false#M286453
Hi x_mark_x,
May I ask if you have resolved this issue? Please let us know if you have any further issues, we are happy to help.
Thank you.
Hi v-echaithra
I did not yet try out the Power Automate method as I was trying out different methods that stay strictly within Fabric territory. I tried this method, to call the Fabric API and refresh the semantic models in a pipeline, and made sure that the Wait on completion option is checked before the semantic model refresh is run, but it was to no avail (https://medium.com/@gordeyew/refresh-semantic-model-with-microsoft-fabric-data-pipeline-4f5e7f6c479b).
I will try the power automate method this week, but I am still amazed how complicated, unintuitive and ineffective it is to refresh the semantic models, and that Microsoft can not find a reliable method within Fabric for automate this process, which basically is possible to do with a manual click of a button.
Please let me know if there is any idea or issue report I can vote for to have this fixed.
I get back to you when I tried the Power Automate method.

Hi DuncanKing ,
If you are facing the issue even after creating the Power automate flow to refresh the data, In that case, the best next step is to raise a support ticket with Microsoft. The support team can look into the backend and provide more in-depth assistance tailored to your environment.
