Scheduled refresh greyed out for multiple data sources - need help

Hello,

I have a report which has multiple data sources

  1. SQL Server database
  2. Visual Studio Online
  3. Sharepoint online

I can successfully publish to PowerBI.com, but "Scheduled Refresh" comes greyed out.

Can you please let me know if this is known behaviour of PowerBI?

Thanks,

Nisarg

Hi @nkkinariwala,

After you publish the report to Power BI service, you need to install a on-premise data gateway and create a SQL data source under data gateway with the same connect information (server name, database name) in desktop. Then enable option "Allow user's cloud data sources to refresh through this gateway cluster" for gateway and configure the dataset use this gateway. For detail information, please follow this article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-mashup-on-premises-cloud
