Hi All,
I am facing an issue with scheduled refresh of one of my reports.
So, I have a report which has incrementral refresh applied on 2 tables. The report gets refreshed every 3 hours on Power BI Service.
Till today morning, the scheduled refresh was working fine but since afternoon, the refresh has failed repeatedly with the following error:
[Unable to combine data]:Section 1/Func_........ references other queries or steps, so it may not directly access a data source. Please rebuild this data combination.
The funny thing is that when I refresh the same report in Power BI Desktop, it gets refreshed successfully.
Please help with this issue.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Simran Tuli
Hi @simrantuli ,
You may have a parameter issue. If you go back to edit your queries and find the parameter select "Any Value" from the drop down for the "query" or "list of values" option.
OR, a data source may have been moved from its location? One file that is not there anymore? OR, the data source was temporarily unavailable?
OR, it could that you are combining an external data source within the query and you ahve to remove the external data source (https://www.excelguru.ca/blog/2015/03/11/power-query-errors-please-rebuild-this-data-combination/).

Hi @collinq ,
All the points that you mentioned seem fine in my case.
Could it be query folding issue? "View Native Query" is greyed out for the tables that I am applying incremental refresh on.
Best Regards

My data source is MS SQL.
