In your scenairo, did the error occur suddenly or often? You can use Fiddler to monitor backend process during refresh. Please take a look at this article: Tools for troubleshooting refresh issues.
v-diye-msft the reports were just re-created and started happening from the initial refresh. We moved from a hosted version of Sharepoint to Sharepoint Online (O365). I had a ticket opened with Microsoft support yesterday.
Thank you for your reply. I read that link you posted prior to putting up the message here in the community. My scenario is not listed there and as is usually the case, the error messages are cryptic and not really useful in determining the root cause of the failure.
