Hi, Having some issues scheduling a refresh in the service, through a gateway in a virtual machine to a SQL Server.
Desktop configured in another machine (not VM), connects and refreshes ok.
Data Gateway configuration says it connects OK.
When I try to refresh the dataset in the service, I receive a message one of the data source doesn't have any credentials, even though in both desktop and the service say the connections are fine. Both are named the same too.
Any ideas as to where this missing credential could be?
Many thanks for any guidance!
Matt
Hi @Anonymous, I am wondering if you go to your dataset setting you should see a section, Data source creditials. I would expect this dataset is missing a creditial as it is throwing you this error.
Here is a link for some troubleshooting guides: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem-tshoot
Hi @Anonymous
Thanks for the pointer - I hadn't seen that option before. Odd though that it's not available in the Manage Gateway section (which tells me that the connection is fine!), and also that in the Manage Gateway section the credentials are saved.
Now, still haven't actually got it working , once I've entered the credentials it just sits there spinning dots to indicate that apparently it's doing something!
Now going to restart, wait a bit more, and see if anything else happens!
Regards,
Matt
