SAP BW With On-Prem Gateway

Is it necessary to create a report in PowerBI desktop before using a data source on an On-Premises Gateway? I'm trying to follow the tutorial for setting up a datasource (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-sql-tutorial) but for SAP BW as the datasource.

    HI RobertD ,

    In fact, gateway datasources are used for published report datasets.
    You can feel free to add different types of datasources to the gateway datasource list but they can only use on corresponding report dataset.
