Refresh data from Sharepoint Folder on PowerBI Service

Hello,

I have set up a query to access a sharepoint online folder and combine all the excel files located inside. While on Power BI desktop I refresh without any issue, both on Power BI service and Power BI Dataflows I receive the following error :

DataSource.NotFound: Excel Workbook: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987.

The error message is straight forward but I am confused because all the components are cloud based, How am I supposed to install the provider? Obviously locally I have installed all the providers and using Power BI Desktop I refresh data successfully.

Please advise

Best,

Andreas

Finally I figured out the solution through this post.

I had to create a Sharepoint connection on a PowerBI Gateway to refresh it succesfully.

Are you using any Access data sources? This looks like an Access error to me - Access requires some software to be installed to use as a source.
