Publish App - Link

Think I am doing somthing wrong.

I want to add a link when publishing an app to a specific dashboard to build sections because when you add an app it shows all the dashboard names in one long list.

I have some dashboards with page navigation on that link to hiden dashboards but would like to use the navigation here if I can understand how to add the correct ids into the url ?

This what I am using to help.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/mobile/mobile-apps-deep-link-specific-location

  • To find a 36-character dashboard object ID, navigate to the specific dashboard you want to link to in the Power BI service and find the dashboard object ID and any other required IDs in the places indicated:

    https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/dashboards/<dashboard-object-id>?ctid=<org-object-id>

This is the error I am getting , presumably I am not using the correct id's

Many thanks

Chris

  • Use separate apps/audiences.  The longer the list of reports the more likely it is these are not important/will be ignored.

    Hi lbendlin ,

Using the naviagtion on each page and an upright navigation on every page to move beetween menues allows the 'subscribe to report' see all the dashboards.

The navigation on the left is collapsed to avoid any confusion when published.

    Many thaks for your input.

  • Not clear to me what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to link, or do you want to embed?

      Hi lbendlin

When updating the app it allows you to add the app in and a default structure of

      Application Name

           Dashboard1

           Dashboard2

           Dashboard3

           Dashboard4

What I am hoping you can do is use the links from the dashboards to build a more structured menu with sections and links to each dashboard.

The bit I cant seem to get right is what id's are used in the link to hit the right dashboard.

      Secition1

           Dashboard1

           Dashboard2

      Section2

           Dashboard3

           Dashboard4

      Many thanks

      Chris

      This might help to explain.

I want to create a section called 'attendance' and add the dashboards into it.

The reason for this is to create sections that are collapsable due the long list of dashboards and give it some structure.

      Many thanks

      Chris
