Advocate IIIPowerBI and Synapse Dedicated Pool
Hello,
Good day
We are building a warehouse on the Azure Synapse Dedicated SQl pool.
We will be using PowerBI for the reporting.
Now the question being asked is if PowerBI will connect directly to the Synapse Dedicated Pool or its best to introduce Analysis cube on top of Synpase.
Any one any views on this? what are the things to consider if we choose to use PowerBI directly connect to Symapse sql pool? Will there be performance impacts?Remember the datasets are large.
Any guidance from Microsoft on this topic

You can use SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to connect to and query Synapse SQL in Azure Synapse Analytics through either serverless SQL pool or dedicated SQL pool resources .
