PowerBI Publish to Web - Data location / sovereignty

Hi All

If I use Publish to Web, where is the data stored - the security whitepaper isn't clear on this. Is it:

a) In the same geography as the tenancy it was published from

b) some Microsoft managed infrastructure that could be anywhere

c) under Satya's desk

d) somewhere else?

Appreciate the input from someone who grasps the infrastructure side of things well! TIA 🙂

Hi @BI_Monkey

To find the region your tenant is in, follow these steps.

  1. In the Power BI service, in the top menu, select help (?) then About Power BI.
  2. Look for the value next to Your data is stored in. It's the region where your tenant is located. The value is also the region where your data is stored, unless you're using capacities in different regions for your workspaces
