Power bi large semantic model refresh
You can bootstrap the initial refresh using a tool like SSMS. The Guy in a Cube folks did a video on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AWt6ijJG94

Could you provide more details and an error of what is actually happening when you say it is crashing? Ideally some text or screenshot would be ideal for us to assist you better.
Hi GilbertQ, there is actually no error message, the process just consume 100% of CPU and freeze my computer

I would recommend upgrading the CPU for the gateway.
Another option is to make sure that you can reduce any steps in Power Query which could be using a lot of CPU and memory such as sorting or Merges.
