Hi All,

I have one query i have created one kpi card and i put card values in indicator, date in trend axis and the target in goals is it possible to send an alert to end user if the value meet with target or may be above the target automatic daily basic.

Note:- The value and the target chnage daily in power bi dasktop and i don't want to enter manually on power bi service manage alert pane.

Some alert have % value as well.

Can anyone please help is it possible to send alert automatic without updating the manage alert daily.

    Hi Anonymous

(1)You can refresh your data in Power BI Service automatically if you have configured the scheduled refresh in Power BI Service .

(2)Alert can set detect frequency ,once a day or once an hour .If the data of Value and Target are changed and refreshed in Power BI Service , as long as the actual value exceeds the target value, the alert will automatically send an alert and notify you by email .

Notice : The actual value and target value will be updated on the KPI, but the target in the alert will not be updated. It is based on the target field obtained when you created the alert. It can be said to be a current fixed value. Currently you can only manually change the value of target in Manage alerts .

For example :the original target value is 700 and the original actual value is 500 .Then I changed the target value is 1500 and the actual value is 30000 in data source .After refreshing in Service ,the changes display in KPI visual but the original alert hasn’t changed .

Yes, alerts are setup to run automatically.  Read the following article as it states how often, when and the limitations to alerts.  I am not sure from your message if you have one card per KPI or you have combined KPI's but it is rather easy to set the alert so when the threshold is met that the alert is sent.

      Hi collinq
I read this article but didn't help so much i have 9 dashboard and each dashboard have 5 to 6 kpi card with gole value i want send an alert message from power bi service if my card value meet with gole.
I checked that power bi has manage alert option but it is very difficult to me enter tagert value daily on this manage alert pane coz my value and tagert change every day in my power bi desktop is there any way on power bi can read my threshold value from card gole value every day and send an alert to end user automatic.
Please tell if there any alternate.

        Hi Anonymous ,

There is not a way in the Power BI settings to adjust the threshold as you are indicating - where it changes from time to time.  However, if you were to use Power Flow/Automate then you can create your own alert that can have more variability in it.
